My research area is in Computational Medicine; in particular, investigating the use of in silico modelling to study Tuberculosis infections. I am currently in the process of building a networked metapopulation model to simulate the whole human lung that incoporates spatial heterogeneity and bacterial dissemination to simulate the disease progression and subsequent treatment of a tuberculosis infection.


Tuberculosis is one of the world's most deadly infectious diseases, with over 9 million new cases each year and over 1 million deaths. Treatment regimens are long and require a patient to take a cocktail of different antibacterial drugs.
